Hot Off the Easel – Puffins on Lunga Released Today
If you love puffins, wild islands, and Scottish seascapes, this one’s for you.
There’s something magical about the way puffins gather on Lunga’s sea cliffs – full of life, colour, and quiet energy. I recently revisited that memory on canvas, and I’m excited to share my newest painting and print with you: Puffins on Lunga.
In May of this year 2025, I took a boat trip with the local tour operator, Staffa Tours, heading out into the waters off Mull on a sunny day. We landed on Lunga, one of the uninhabited Treshnish Isles, and spent time among the puffin colonies – so full of personality and charm.
I remember standing on the cliffside, puffins darting between burrows and sea spray swirling below. That moment stayed with me – and now it’s become a painting.
Whether you’ve visited Lunga yourself or love the idea of wild places where nature thrives, I hope this piece brings a little of that joy and freedom to your home.
